Silly Sausage Cafe

First time here and so glad I found it. Great cafe, much better than others around that I have tried. Great coffee, great omelette and chips, paninis and cakes. Very good prices as well with lovely, friendly staff. What more do you want? Will definitely return.

My husband and I have visited this cafe for many years now and will continue to do so, mainly due to its warm and friendly atmosphere and excellent customer service! Julie, the proprietor, is beyond welcoming, kind and extremely attentive, as are all her staff! Although we don’t live in the area, we always call in when we are! The food is always delicious, hot and fresh and the staff are always attentive and polite. We were extremely surprised, therefore, when we read a recent and disturbing review from a visitor, who appeared to mainly complain about there being no marmalade available and then criticising the customer service he received! Unfortunately, establishments do run out of provisions through no fault of their own, including stock issues, high demand from customers and lack of availability, to name a few! With a lovely array of fresh produce available, I cannot see why this would be a pressing issue or complaint? And to then seemingly criticise the fact he had to pay extra for what he had instead of marmalade? It is unfounded and damning reviews such as this, that can cost small businesses their hard earned reputations and credibility! We too have been in the customer service industry for over 40 years as the reviewer cites, both running our own large businesses and as employees! We could not recommend this cafe highly enough and feel sometimes people need to be realistic about expectations and possibly their own behaviour!

Great cafe offering simple yet delicious food options. Visited before a trip to Trent bridge cricket ground and was only a few mins detour so would be great before football or cricket matches. Helpful staff and an interesting old building

Unpretentious cafe, friendly staff, realistically priced, lovely breakfast, not greasy

We come here for a Large Veg breakfast often. We are always looked after. No request is too much for them. All the staff are friendly. The orange cake was nice Thanks ladies.

Tasty food, good prices, friendly staff. I ordered a small breakfast, but the portion was a decent size. Very good coffee. The interior looks like you've stepped back in time 30 years, but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with that.

Popped in here after completing a job and, am so glad I did ! I asked for Sausage Chips and Beans - made and brought out fast with a very friendly staff bringing out condiments for me. Nice atmosphere to eat in, a old style cafe environment that am very pleased I found the "Silly Sausage Cafe" as filling and better value than the national fast food joints that are soulless IMHO. I will deffo visit again

Enjoyed a small breakfast, delicious Caramel Latte and lemon drizzle cake The staff is lovely and everything is made fresh with little waiting time. Will definitely come back when I’m in the area next!
